Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes was elected in 2022 to represent Sacramento’s 3rd District on the City Council - and she’s running for re-election in 2026.

Before her election to the City Council, Karina balanced her time as a small business owner, Sacramento County Board of Education President, and Chief of Staff for then-Councilmember Ashby for five years.

She is focused on addressing homelessness, public safety, the housing crisis, and supporting the working-class community she represents.
